Poseidon was founded in 1907 as a rowing club where anyone could become a member, which was not self-evident at the time. Our articles of association stated that no one could be refused membership on grounds of race, religion or gender.
For almost 120 years, our members have been a colourful mix of enthusiastic people (>18 years old), who not only love rowing, but also enjoy all other aspects of club life, such as get-togethers, dinners and other joint activities.
On the Dutch page you can find more information about our history.
Our clubhouse is located at a fantastic spot on the Amstel, not far from the city centre and near Utrechtsebrug. It has one of the best the best views of Amsterdam.
Those taking to the water may choose to head for the green surroundings south of Amsterdam or a trip through Amsterdam's beautiful canals.
